A lot of sea water is inform of huge sheets of ice at the coldest places on the earth. Global warming causes the melting of ice in the north and south poles and thereby increases the level of seawater.
Surface water that we see collected the in lakes and oceans comes from high areas such as the poles and even mountain caps; where the water is stored in form of ice. The general increase in the temperature, global warming, melts the ice which flows to collect in oceans thus increasing the water levels.
