I have spent about 15 years at IBM Research and in the past four years I have set up a scientific research center in Africa (Nairobi & Joburg). I left this job in 2016 and right now I am running the iHub, Africa premier tech entrepreneurship center, helping startups to grow. You can find my science work on Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=WZ1e6AYAAAAJ&hl=en) and a few bits on my blog (http://waat2do.tumblr.com/archive). I am also a Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan Business School and I teach tech in developing markets as part of an economics class. Today my scientific interests are on large scale societal transformation: how science and technology can transform societies, countries and positively affect peoples lives.
