    Question: what is the reason as to why when light skinned people move to places of high temperatures their skin begins to darken but when they return to their normal places their skin colour changes back to normal. is it that their melanin level increases and reduces with change in environment or what happens?

      Melanin acts to provide some degree of protection and yes. There maybe other factors involved.
